2021 FIRST-GENERATION ESSAY CONTEST

The MSI Student Council and The Intersection are excited to announce the Second Annual First-Generation Student Essay Contest. The contest is part of the UNLV 2021 First-Generation Campus-wide Celebration. The deadline to submit is Friday, November 12, 2021.

Details: Any first-generation UNLV student can enter this contest by picking one of these terms and writing a short personal essay inspired by it. Essays should be 500 words long. The essay should address the writer’s life experience in some way.

HOCUS POCUS MOVIE NIGHT

It’s spooky season and MSISC is showing the newly recognized cult-classic, HOCUS POCUS, for a throwback movie night at UNLV on the SWRC Lawn. 

Millennials, zillennials, and anyone else who grew up watching Hocus Pocus might find it surprising that the film was actually a flop in regards to its original earnings in 1993.
